Group Ironman
Group Ironman Mode
This game mode allows between 2 and 6 players to play as a group with Ironman restrictions. Groups have three variants; Group Ironman
, Hardcore Group Ironman
, and Unranked Group Ironman
. Group Ironman and Hardcore Group Ironman are only accessible by new accounts, but existing Ironman accounts can convert to Unranked Group Ironman accounts if they choose.
Unlike typical Ironman accounts, Group Ironmen can freely trade within their group and see items dropped by other group members.
Prestige
Prestige is a cosmetic indicator given when a ranked group is created and denoted by a gold star within the Ironman clan chat interface as well the hiscores. Prestige can only be lost by partaking in certain in-game activities with players outside of your group or by inviting a new member after the group is finalized. If a group member attempts to start/join an activity that can remove prestige they will be given a warning.
The following activities can impact prestige:
- Chamber of Xeric
- Theatre of Blood
- Nex
Hardcore Groups must maintain prestige, and will be blocked from joining any activity that would remove their prestige.

Group Storage
Group Ironmen have access to group storage, an additional method of storage that can be accessed by all group members. Only one player may access the group storage at a time. Group storage currently has 80 spaces but additional storage can be unlocked in the future.
Creating or Joining a Group
After finishing the tutorial, players will land on The Node, where a Game Mode can be selected.
Upon choosing any of the Group Ironman modes players can create a new group by clicking the "Create Group" button on the Group Ironman clan chat interface. Group names must be unique and are limited to 12 characters. Group leaders can invite additional members by right clicking a player, similar to trading or dueling.

Clan Chat Interface)Leaving a Group
Group members can leave their group at any time by talking to the Ironman Tutor at home or the Group Ironman Tutor in The Node. Group leaders must assign a new leader prior to leaving a group.
Disbanding a Group
There are two scenarios that will result in the disbanding of a group: Group size reducing to one or running out of lives (for Hardcore Groups).
If a group drops down to a single member, they will have 7 days to recruit a new member or the group will be disbanded and the remaining member will be converted to an Ironman account.
If a Hardcore Group runs out of lives, the group will immediately disband and all members will be converted to Ironman accounts.
At this time, any items in the groups shared storage will be deleted if a group disbands, so try to plan accordingly.
Kicking a Member
Group leaders have the ability to kick members from their group. This is done via right clicking a players name in the Ironman clan chat interface. Kicked members (marked with red text in the Ironman clan chat interface) will be removed 3 days after the kick is initiated during which time the leader can cancel the kick request the same way the kick was initiated or the kicked member can leave voluntarily and choose their own revert option.
While the kick request is pending, the kicked player will not have access to the Group's shared storage but can otherwise interact with the group normally.
If after 3 days the kick request has not be canceled and the player has not reverted their account, they will be removed from the group and their account will be converted to Hardcore Ironman if kicked from a Hardcore group or Ironman otherwise.
Convert/Revert Options
Reverting your account via one of the Ironman NPCs provides the following options:
- Group Ironman accounts can revert their account to a regular account, an Ironman account, or an Unranked Group Ironman account.
- Hardcore Group Ironman accounts can revert their account to a regular account, a Hardcore Ironman account (provided they never died while in the group), an Ironman account, or an Unranked Group Ironman account.
- Unranked Group Ironman accounts can only revert to a regular account.
- All Ironman modes have the option to convert into an Unranked Group Ironman account.
Hardcore Group Ironman
The Hardcore Group Ironman variant functions similarly to regular Group Ironman groups but with a set number of lives and forced prestige. When the group is finalized by leaving The Node the groups lives will be set to the size of the group. Unsafe deaths will result in the loss of a life and reaching zero lives will result in the disbanding of the group. Hardcore Group Ironman accounts will be converted to Ironman accounts.
Currently the only SAFE deaths for Hardcore Group Ironman accounts are:
- The Duel Arena
- Fight Caves
- Inferno
- Gulag
- Pest Control
- The World Boss
All other deaths will result in the loss of a life.
If a Hardcore Group Ironman leaves or is kicked from a group, they may also take one of the groups lives with them if they have not previously cost the group a life.
Unranked Group Ironman
Unranked Group Ironman accounts cannot be created but several account types can convert into Unranked Group Ironman. (See revert options)
Unranked Groups function similarly to normal Ironman groups but do not appear on the hiscores nor do they have prestige
